My name is Luke Newman and I suffer from a mental health illness. I’ve suffered with grief which has led into anxiety.

I’m usually a happy man and very lucky with a beautiful family and friends. Sometimes I’m down, but that’s ok. I take an anti-depressant called sertraline, but I also talk to those loved ones and they all help. I’m not ashamed and nor should anyone else, that’s why I formed For Men To Talk.

Please talk. #oursilentemergency

Today is International Womens Day.

Here is a message from our founder, Luke Newman: “I celebrate the women in my life, especially my Mum and sister who I greatly miss. They were strong, independent women, who influenced and still influence my life on a daily basis.”

“When ‘Mama’ was released by the Spice Girls, I purchased the cassette, sneaked into my Mum’s car, and left a note for her to press play. This song means everything to me and I know it did to her too”
